BHS BLAX defeats Spring Valley

BLYTHEWOOD – After picking up a region win against Spring Valley on March 13, Blythewood boys’ lacrosse dropped region games to Fort Mill and Nation Ford.

Jake Berg had five goals and Nate Rabon had four goals in the 13-7 win over Spring Valley. Quinton Solomon, Eli Kantrovich, Ethan Stephens, Jacob Palso and Thomas Oakes each had a goal. Oakes, a sophomore, had four assists on the day. Palso, Stephens and Rabon had two assists each.

Solomon tallied 9 ground balls; Rabon had eight and Landon Kahle and Oakes had seven each. Solomon won 14 of 21 faceoff attempts.

Junior Jordan Garifalon had 8 saves in the win.

Palso lead Blythewood with 2 goals in the 15-6 loss to Fort Mill on March 16. Kahle, Stephens, Berg and Oakes had one apiece. Rabon, Oakes, Berg and Khale each tallied an assist.

William Perkins and Rabon had seven ground balls. Garifalon had 20 saves in 33 shots on goal.

Blythewood fell to Nation Ford on March 20 with a 19-3 final.

Earlier in March, the Bengals picked up a 13-6 win over Laurence Manning Academy. 

Berg led with five goals, Khale and Rabon had three each, and Stephens and Oakes each put in one.

Solomon had nine ground balls, Rabon had eight, and Stephens had seven. Garifalon had three saves in 34 minutes played; Josh Nguen had six saves in 12 minutes. 

The Bengals will travel to Clover tonight for another region matchup and will jost Legion Collegiate Academy on March 29 at 7 p.m.
