WHS baseball season comes to an end

HILTON HEAD – The Westwood baseball team (8-12) managed to snag an at-large bid and a No.12 seed in the 4A Lower State Bracket 1 tournament, but ended the season with losses to No.5 South Florence and No.4 Hilton Head last week.

The Redhawks managed one hit—from Xavier DeJesus—in a 10-0, 5-inning loss to the Bruins in the opening game May 1.

Westwood traveled to Hilton Head May 3 and took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but the Seahawks scored two runs in the bottom of that inning and got two runs in the fourth, one in the fifth, and two in the sixth to seal the win. Nathan Caldwell and Kellen Moore both had doubles in the game.
