Catch these events at the Blythewood library

BLYTHEWOOD – The winter months are a great time to take in some of the Blythewood Library’s fun, indoor events.

Two upcoming must-see programs are For the Love of Gardening and FSTEAM Studio: Paper Making with SCDNR Archaeology.

For the Love of Gardening is a gathering for those who love plants. Join the informal meet-up where everyone brings their own gardening questions and shares tips and tricks.

The event is set for Saturday, Jan. 11, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Registration is suggested for reminders but not required.

Another upcoming program, this one for school children ages 6 – 12, is entitled Meet a South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Archaeologist …and learn how paper would have been made by people over 200 years ago, including the different methods they would have used.

Make your own sheet of recycled paper with paper pulp using a deckle and frame. You will get a chance to decorate your sheet with colorful paper confetti, before taking it home to dry.

The event takes place at the Blythewood Library from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 15.

Registration is required for this event. You will need a library card to register online. If you do not have a library card, please contact 803-691-9806 to register.
