Charlie Bonds commits to Francis Marion

WINNSBORO – Richard Winn senior Charlie Bonds made his post-high school plans official yesterday when he signed his letter of intent to continue his baseball career at Francis Marion University.

Bonds pitches and plays infield for the Eagle baseball team, which has won two SCISA state titles in the past two seasons.

According to a tweet from Bonds, he hit .540 in 63 at bats in his junior season. His on base percentage was .659 and his slugging percentage was .984. Bonds tallied 19 singles, 8 doubles, a triple, and six homeruns. He had 30 runs batted in, scored 39 runs for the Eagles, and struck out only eight times.

Bonds is a four-sport athlete at Richard Winn. Aside from baseball, he plays football and basketball and is a member of the shooting team.
