Jesse Lee Douglas, 82, of Winnsboro passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Born October 15, 1942 in Winnsboro, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Sarah Branham Douglas.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Brenda Starnes Douglas; a daughter, Margaret Lynn Douglas Branham (Mike); two grandchildren, Allison Marie Branham- Tempest (Lee), and Christa Douglas Herrera (Tim Yongue); five great- grandchildren, Charlotte and James Branham-Tempest, Aiden Joseph Douglas Riddle, Ana Lynn Douglas Herrera, and Avalee Adell Douglas Herrera; A sister, Carolyn Tanner (John); and nieces and nephews; and a longtime family friend, Larry Crowe.
In addition to his parents, Jesse is predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jo and Austin Peay, a brother, Larry Douglas, and a brother- in law and sister-in-law, Harold and Anna Starnes, Waco, Texas.
Jesse retired from the Town of Winnsboro December 31, 2013, where he was Director of the Town’s Gas, Water and Sewer Departments. After retirement, Jesse enjoyed many family trips and spending time with his family. Jesse loved his family, work, and helping others.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Bethel ARP Church Cemetery, Officiated by Pastor Jimmy Burroughs. Pallbearers will be Larry Crowe, Albert Starnes, Joe Wilkes, Timothy Yongue, Aiden Riddle, and John Tanner. The family will receive family and friends after the service at the graveside.
The family would like to express special appreciation to Agape Hospice Care, Nurse Monica Steed, Nurse’s Aide Donna, Caregivers: Regina Jones and Karen Wilson for their support and love they provided to Jesse, Brenda, and family.
