FLORENCE – At West Florence, the Blythewood softball team (14-3) ran head on into Knights ace Annie Ruth Eliason Tuesday night. Eliason faced 21 Bengal batters and struck out 12 of them as West Florence beat them 10-0 in six innings.
Eliason also went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Teammate Hannah Marsik went 3-for-4 and also batted in two runs and Charisma Williams had two hits, including a double.
Makalah Ford’s single in the sixth inning was Blythewood’s only hit.
The Bengals beat Lugoff-Elgin 7-3 Thursday behind Lily Zell’s complete-game, eight-strikeout performance. Rhames Weisinger doubled, homered, and drove in three runs. Ford had two hits, including a double. Ashley Duncan and Raygan Segars had two hits apiece.
Blythewood softball plays West Florence again tonight and is at Sumter Tuesday.
