BLYTHEWOOD – Local farmers, bakers, and vendors will be returning to Doko Park for the Blythewood Farmers Market Wednesday, April 23, from 4 -7 p.m. with fruits, vegetables, eggs, meats, breads, honey, pickles, and more.
This event marks the first week of the market’s 31-week season where vendors will be set up around the amphitheater in the park every Wednesday until November 19.
“We hope everyone will come out to the park and enjoy the bounty of spring on opening day,” said market manager Michaela Barno.
The playground is adjacent to the market, there are walking trails, nice restrooms, and ample parking.
It’s time for Mother’s Day, graduation and Father’s Day gifts, and there will be lots of items to choose from for everyone on your list.
Look for the POP Kids club to sign up children ages 4-11 for fun activities throughout the season. As before, this market accepts all forms of payment, including credit, EBT, vouchers for Seniors and WIC.
Opening day will feature a variety of food trucks, live music, and a champagne toast.
Come see what makes Blythewood’s market the place for homegrown groceries.
Along with the market, there will also be a blood-drive (the Blood Connection) and the seed sanctuary from the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District.
