Two Fairfield farms recently received grants from the SC Department of Agriculture’s ACRE (Agribusiness Center for Research and Entrepreneurship) program.
Bushels and Bags Farm in Ridgeway received a $25,000 grant, and Set in Stone Sustainability Farm in Jenkinsville received a $5,000 grant. The awards are part of $200,000 in funding that was divided among 12 South Carolina agribusiness ventures.
The goal of the grants is to help identify and nurture new ideas and businesses in the Palmetto State’s agribusiness sector.
The farms that applied for the funding were scored by a panel of judges based on the farms’ business plans, a five-minute video presentation and a demonstrated history of business success.
