WINNSBORO – Allen University is playing their 2025 home games at the Fairfield Central High School stadium. With two down and three more to go in the season, there are still plenty of Saturdays to enjoy fall college games right here in Fairfield County.
Fairfield County District Assistant Superintendent of Academics Dr. Tracie Swilley says it was an easy connection to make happen.
“Our head football coach knew their head football coach, and Allen is waiting to get their stadium built,” Swilley said. “So that worked for both Allen and FCSD. We’re always looking for opportunities for college and career readiness to expose our young people to the next level. So, participating with higher ed institutions is always a great thing. That’s really how we got started.”
Swilley also noted that FCHS football alum Tymaris Weldon plays for Allen, and another alum, Meghan Ford, performs as a dancer with the Allen band.
“That’s a draw for our folks. I think people like coming out to see them as well as the game,” Swilley said. “We’ve had good crowds at the first two games. A lot of our students have been attending. It’s just great having Saturday afternoon collegiate football following our Friday night home games.”
Swilley said FCHS students work both the Friday night and Saturday concession stands.
“It’s a great experience for our kids and our community,” she said.
Tickets are $15 for adults and students and $5 for kids under 12.
