Honor Hair Company coming to Blythewood

BLYTHEWOOD – The hair salon, Honor Hair Co., is the newest business to find its home in Blythewood, according to leasing agent Amy Stuck with the Vireo Group in Columbia.

Ashley Wright

In August, owner and hairstylist Ashley Wright leased one of six bays in the new retail building in the Food Lion shopping center. She says she hopes to open by Thanksgiving or at least before the end of the year.

The shop, which is still undergoing interior construction, is located at 733 B University Village Dr.

Wright is currently looking to bring in four more stylists to rent booths in her six-booth salon.

“Our focus will be on hair services and whatever cosmetology services our stylists choose to offer,” Wright said.

Wright says she currently has two stylists and is looking for four more.

“I’m looking for stylists who are eager to help create a salon environment that goes above and beyond for their clients to make them feel comfortable and at ease, Wright said.

“I want to create a clean, calm, and beautiful environment where our clients know what to expect each time they visit,” she said.

Wright says she’s passionate about creating great hair styles and giving great customer service.

“As a teenager, I used to get haircuts that made me look like a Golden Girl,” Wright recalled with laugh. “When I left the salon, I would always be crying.”

With 15 years under her belt as a hairstylist, Wright says she wants to give each client a unique experience.

“The tagline for our business is, ‘Honor is at the heart of great service’.”

Wright and her family have lived in Blythewood for 20 years.

“I decided to open the salon now so that I can stay close to my children as they get older, but also because Blythewood is exploding with an influx of businesses and new people in the community,” she said. “It’s a great opportunity.”

Wright said she and her family are ‘steamrolling’ along to get the salon open.

“We’re planning to have a celebration a week before the official opening, and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone then and showing them around the shop,” she said.

“We’re still in the beginning stages, so there’s no website or phone number yet, but we invite patrons to visit our Instagram and Facebook pages at honorhairco.”

Clients and potential stylists can reach Wright at honorhairco@gmail.com for more information about the services that will be available as well as booth rentals.
