WINNSBORO – Following a 62-35 non-region win on Saturday, Jan. 10, Richard Winn’s boys basketball team fell 61-47 in a region contest at Cambridge Academy in Greenwood on Tuesday.
The loss moves the Eagles to 6-4 on the season, 2-2 in region play.
They host Anderson Christian for another region game tonight, then are at Newberry Academy on Jan. 23.
The Eagle girls fell 67-63 in overtime at Wardlaw Academy on Jan. 6. Down 9-11 after a quarter, the Eagles knotted the score at 25 by halftime. Wardlaw went back up 39-34 by the end of the third, but Richard Winn outscored the Patriots 18-13 in the fourth to tie the game at 52 at the end of regulation. Wardlaw put up 15 points in overtime to the Eagles’ 11 to claim the four-point win.
The Eagle girls will travel to Greenwood Christian on Thursday, then are back on the road at Newberry Academy on Jan. 23.
