WINNSBORO – Following a historic season that saw the Fairfield Central Griffins claim a region title and fall just points short of a state title appearance, three standout seniors have been selected to represent the school on the gridiron one last time.
ErDreus Walker, Keshon Williams, and James Thomas competed in the Palmetto I-20 All-Star Game on Saturday, Jan. 10 at Brookland-Cayce High School.
The selection of the trio served as a final tribute to a senior class that led the Griffins to a 10-4 record and the AA Region 3 championship. The team’s deep playoff run ended in a hard-fought 15-13 battle against Strom Thurmond in the Upper State Championship.
ErDreus Walker entered the all-star roster as a versatile iron man for the Griffins. During his senior campaign, Walker was a threat in every phase of the game, tallying 651 total yards of offense, including 473 receiving yards and three touchdowns. On the defensive side, the senior strong safety recorded 60 tackles and five pass breakups. Over his varsity career, Walker amassed over 1,000 total yards and 187 tackles, proving to be one of the most consistent playmakers in the region.
Keshon Williams represented Fairfield on the defensive line. Despite playing in only 10 games this season, Williams was a constant disruptor in the backfield, recording eight tackles for loss and leading the team with three sacks and seven quarterback hurries. His ability to collapse the pocket was a cornerstone of the Griffins’ dominant defensive front.
James Thomas, an anchor on the Griffin offensive line, rounded out Fairfield Central’s. As a senior leader in the trenches, Thomas was instrumental in paving the way for a Fairfield Central offense that averaged high production throughout their 14-game season.
The three seniors joined the best players from across the Midlands to showcase their talent as members of Team Savage before the college recruiting cycle concludes.
