Blythewood Garden Club’s annual event set for March 19

The Blythewood Garden Club’s annual community garden event will be held on Thursday, March 19.

Clemson-trained Master Gardener, Lynn Derrick, will speak on growing wider varieties of fruits and vegetables in the Midlands, and other things he has learned from his years of gardening.

The event will be held this year at 7 p.m. in the Fairfield Electric Cooperative Community Room, 701 Blythewood Rd. The event is free and has been offered to the public for more than 14 years.

The Blythewood Garden Club was founded in 1953 and has been a force for good gardening, beautification and conservation. It provides and maintains the planters in front of the post office and the Carolina Fence Garden at the Historical Museum.
