BLYTHEWOOD – Several traffic pattern changes are coming to Exit 24 in Blythewood, and construction work is expected to begin March 19, according to SCDOT officials.
- The existing loop ramp from US 21 southbound onto I-77 southbound will be closed and demolished to allow for the planned widening of I-77.
- A yield sign will be installed on US 21 northbound where it enters the on ramp to 1-77 southbound.
- A left turn lane (see green line) and traffic signals will be added to US 21 southbound where it will turn left onto the on-ramp to I-77 southbound.
- Two left turn lanes (see green line) will be added to the I-77 northbound off-ramp where it connects to US 21 southbound. The existing free-flow right turn lane onto US 21 northbound will not be impacted by these changes.
- A traffic signal will be installed where the northbound I-77 off-ramp connects to US 21 southbound.
