Carrying the Cross

BLYTHEWOOD – For the last seven years, a Blythewood men’s workout group called F3 has been meeting for boot camp style workouts at 5 a.m. and finishing before the sun comes up.

Normally, on Fridays, the group rucks four miles with weighted backpacks. On Good Friday, they will be holding a special workout, something they’ve done for the past three years. They will ruck four miles carrying a 110 pound cross made of 6” x 6” timbers. The men take turns carrying the cross through the streets of Blythewood neighborhoods, stopping along the way for scripture readings and prayers. They encourage others to join in.
