Griffins teams work in playoffs

SOFTBALL – Wren defeated Fairfield Central softball in the first round of the SCHSL 3A State tournament on Tuesday with a  19-1 final.

The loss puts Fairfield in the elimination game against the loser of Broom/Berea on Friday; Wren faces the winner of that contest. 


SOCCER – Fairfield Central faced Seneca in the round 1 of the 3A playoffs on Monday.

The Griffins fell in a 15-0 shutout. The loss drops Fairfield from the tournament. Seneca advanced to face top-seeded Powdersville on Wednesday.


TENNIS – Fairfield Central boys’ played two-seed Wren High School in the first round of the 3A State Playoffs last Tuesday.

Wren swept the Griffins with a 5-0 win, then beat Blue Ridge 5-2 and Clinton 4-2 to advance. They will face Daniel on May 4 for a chance to play in the state championship.
