WINNSBORO – Requests from non-profit organizations in Fairfield County for accommodations and hospitality tax grants will be considered by the A & H tax advisory committee on Monday, March 10, at 9 a.m. The meeting will be held at the county government complex at 350 N. Walnut Street in Winnsboro.
The following requests for funding have been submitted:
- South Carolina Railroad Museum for $145,000 for window replacement, increased state-wide advertising, and the rebuilding of rail switch at Greenbrier
- Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce for $65,000 to cover website construction, radio advertising, Rock Around the Clock Sponsorship, Big Grab Yard Sale, publication of the Destination Guide, funding for Street Marking Boxes, advertising in the SC Vacation Guide and the SC State Fair Visitors Guide, visitor’s center upgrades, Discover Fairfield County promotion, Shop Fairfield First promotion, and Field and Stream Music Festival CMT partnership.
- Alston Trailhead expansion for $95,000
- Pine Tree Playhouse building repair and update for $20,000
- Grieving Needs Foundation event for $9,800
- Wings and Wheels annual event for $5,000
Advisory committee members include Tina Johnson, Paulette Mumma, Susan Yenner, Domenic Nappa, Dwayne Robinson, Jennifer Fickmeyer, and Phyllis Watkins.
