Westwood awarded $5K for Friday Night Lights

BLYTHEWOOD – The lights are shining even brighter at Westwood High School this season. The Westwood Redhawks have been awarded a $5,000 grant from T-Mobile as part of the company’s national Friday Night 5G Lights initiative — a $4 million effort aimed at uplifting small-town football programs and spotlighting the dedication of student-athletes and coaches across the country.

Westwood is now one of 450 high schools nationwide in the running for the $1 million grand prize — a transformational package that includes a football field makeover, weight room renovation by Gronk Fitness, and an exclusive trip to the SEC Championship Game.

But this program goes beyond upgraded facilities — it’s about recognizing the heart of Friday night football in towns like Blythewood. From the first whistle to the final buzzer, Westwood football brings the community together. T-Mobile is proud to celebrate that tradition.
