Midlands STEM named National Beta School of Distinction

WINNSBORO – Midlands STEM Charter School has been named a 2024–2025 National Beta School of Distinction, a recognition given to schools that grow student involvement in the National Beta Club by at least 10% from the previous year.

The National Beta School of Distinction honor is awarded to clubs that foster academic achievement, exemplary character, leadership, and service. This year, less than 3,000 clubs nationwide received the designation.

“This distinction highlights the dedication of our Beta Club members and the growth of student leadership at Midlands STEM,” said Dr. TK Kennedy, Chief Executive Officer at Midlands STEM. “It reflects the strong commitment our students have to academics, character, and service, which are central to our mission as a school.”

In a congratulatory letter to Midlands STEM, National Beta CEO Bobby Hart noted, “This national award speaks highly of your commitment to academic excellence and illustrates your dedication to preparing students for their future.”

As part of the recognition, Midlands STEM received a National Beta School of Distinction banner to display on campus.

“At Midlands STEM, we are committed to developing students as leaders who serve with purpose,” said Adriann Stokes-King, Director of School Counseling and sponsor of the school’s Beta Club. “We dedicate ourselves to teaching leadership as a core value for every student, creating a culture that empowers students to take initiative and responsibility, and aligning our systems to support social, emotional, and academic success.”
