BLYTHEWOOD — Blythewood High School’s JROTC program recently named C/PFC Kaleel Armstrong its Cadet of the Week, awarding him a medal that recognizes exceptional dedication and personal growth.
Though Armstrong is a newcomer to the program, Bengal Battalion leadership noted that his integrity and focus have made an immediate impression. Instructors highlighted his attentive nature during lessons and his confidence in the classroom, noting that while the program can be intimidating for new students, Armstrong has been intentional and inquisitive in his approach to learning.
In his recommendation for the award, Gerald Hemingway praised the cadet’s character and work ethic.
“His dedication, perseverance, and personal growth reflect outstanding character traits that are indicative of a true Cadet of the Week,” Hemingway stated.
The Bengal Battalion regularly presents the Cadet of the Week award to acknowledge students who set a high standard of leadership and commitment within the program.
