Facts About Community Center

It has been said a lot lately that the Community Center was given to the Town to be sold and the proceeds used to pay for the park. That’s actually not exactly true. According to the agreement, the “building and land surrounding it was to go to the Town of Blythewood with no restrictions.”  That meant it could be determined by the Council what to use the proceeds for.

The $800 cash assets were specifically to go “to the Town of Blythewood for use in developing the land set aside for the town park.”

And according to the agreement, not even half of the members signed the contract. There were 37 members listed and only 18 signed the agreement.
