The Voice of Blythewood & Fairfield County

New ER Program

As Chief Nursing Officer at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, I am excited to share with the community a new program at Fairfield Memorial as part of our “Commitment to Excellence.” We recently instituted a new program to measure patient satisfaction. The Emergency Room has a tablet, much like an iPad, that is given to each patient when the decision is made to discharge. Programmed into the tablet is a list of questions concerning the patient’s experience while in the ER. The questions include experience and satisfaction with the doctor and the nurses, satisfaction with treatment plan and understanding of discharge instructions. This program has been in place for approximately two months. The results have been phenomenal. More than 95 percent of our patients are satisfied or very satisfied. Our goal is to make that number 95 percent very satisfied.

Thank you Fairfield County for your support of Fairfield Memorial and we will continue to try to make our hometown hospital the place to go for your health care needs.
