Letter to the Editor: Don’t Miss this Meeting

Four years and seven public hearings ago our rural community was threatened by the invasion of commercial zoning. To date, our community has succeeded in fending off the relentless attempts by Mr. Palmer to forever change the landscape of our community. This success has come from the community showing up in large numbers to speak against this zone change. Mr. Palmer is quite aware of our passion to remain rural-residential and has utilized his option to defer the hearing from October to December 19. Undoubtedly, this is an attempt to reduce the public opposition attendance during the hearing. His hope is that most of the community will be busy with Holiday functions and family time, as they should. I am making an exception to my plans and will miss a company Christmas party to attend the hearing because I feel our community is worth it. I implore everyone potentially affected to do the same so we can win again.
