Letter: No Racism in Dawkins

I want to address the current claim of racial divide in Dawkins.

I have lived here for the past two decades. We were one of the first white families to move here. I thought I should address the recent hate letter sent to some of my neighbors. Regardless of who sent this hate letter I hope he or she is caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The threats are those of a hate crime and it needs to be addressed. That being said. I want the general public to know that there is not a racial issue in this community. We all get along very well.

We all are here for each other, and we will continue to be so.

Politics makes strange bedfellows. The climate of hate is hot all over this country right now.  Let us never forget that we are all human beings. We all have our faults and there is no perfect human. We all need one thing – a common thread from one to another. We all want love and peace.

Rest assured there is no racism issue here in Dawkins.  If you ask anyone who actually lives here they will tell you the same thing.
