Son of the late Andrew Franklin and Ruby Coleman Blair, he was born on Feb. 17, 1936, in Blair, S.C. He attended Monticello High School and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1958 and sustained a lifelong loyalty to his home community and to the Gamecocks.

His career was chiefly in the trucking business with his college friends Melvin and Barry Burton. His retirement years were spent aboard his boat, principally docked at Beaufort, S.C.

Survivors include one brother, Andrew Frank Blair; seven nephews, Robert C. Blair Jr., Andrew Blair, Michael Blair, all of Blair, S.C., Andrew Ligon of Huntington Beach, Cal., Blair Ligon of Cary, N.C., John Blair of McLean, Va., and James Blair of Atlanta, Ga.; and one niece, Kathy Blair Weaver of Emporia, Kan.

Larry also leaves his lifelong friends, the John and Jane Brooks Family, who were his loyal supporters during his illness.
