COLUMBIA: Graveside service for Herbert Edward “Andy” Anderson, age 89, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 in the Beulah United Methodist Church Cemetery in Blythewood conducted by Pastor Cecil Baine. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Pope Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Mr. Anderson passed away on Friday morning, Aug. 10, 2012 at Providence Hospital. Twice widowed, he was the beloved husband of the late Virginia Anderson and the late Mary Alice Sox Anderson. He was born in Columbia, S.C. on Oct. 8, 1922 and was the son of the late George H. and Ophelia Anderson. He was a member of Killian Wesleyan Church and a mechanic for Neil Parts Rebuilders who worked in manufacturing refurbished automobile parts for more than 35 years.

Mr. Anderson is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Jean Black and her husband Silas Leland Black; four grandchildren, Robert, Chris, Mary Ann and Sarah, all of Columbia; and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Dianne, Susan, Wayne and Johnny of Florida.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Country Wood Nursing Home for their special patience and care during Mr. Anderson’s stay.
