Willie D. Coleman (center) was promoted from Lt. Colonel to Colonel June 15 at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Col. Coleman, pictured with his mother, Elousie Ashford Coleman, and father, Willie Preston, is the grandson of the late John Preston and Etolia Peoples Coleman of Blair, and the late Fleming and Ella Cook Ashford of Winnsboro. His awards and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Ranger Tab and the Expert Infantry Badge, as well as the Air Assault and Airborne wings. Col. Coleman is currently assigned to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology where he serves as a staff officer.
