The new Cornwallis Tea Company Tea Room in Winnsboro hosted the Northeast Republican Women’s Victory Tea meeting Aug. 9 at 5:30 p.m. The recently opened Tea Room, located at 141 South Congress St. in downtown Winnsboro, is currently open for tea Thursdays – Saturdays from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Food sales and service and the official opening will be in September. About 20 members of the NERWC attended the evening meeting and were joined by (from left) Bob Carrison, Republican candidate for S.C. Senate; Laura Lester of Lake Wateree; Kevin Thomas of Ridgeway and president of the Fairfield County Republican Party; Denise Jones of Blythewood and Nikki Trawick, president of the Club. The owners of the newly renovated Tea Room, Jenny Praser and Christina Fair, served their signature chicken salad on croissants, green salad, red velvet muffins topped with giant raspberries and cream as well as other goodies and, of course, iced tea.
