Bragg, N.C. and later served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as an aerial engineer aboard a B-24 bomber.  He flew missions into Germany from England until VE Day.  Shortly thereafter, on June 2, 1945, he married Mary Elizabeth McKibben of Calhoun City, Miss., and they remained happily married for nearly 67 years.  At the conclusion of WWII, Mr. Lynn was employed as assistant county agent with the Clemson Extension Service in Lancaster County, S.C.  In 1950, he became the county agent for Fairfield County, S.C. a position which he held until his retirement in 1976.  Thereafter, he devoted his time and interests to his gardening and various civic organizations.  He also served in many capacities in his beloved church, the First United Methodist Church of Winnsboro, S.C.  He was the Chairman of the Election Commission of Fairfield County, chairman of The Great Towns development organization and coordinated the beautification and redesign of Fortune Springs Park of Winnsboro.  He was a long-time member of the Winnsboro Rotary Club and served as its President in 1971 and the Sergeant at Arms for many years thereafter.  He was awarded the Service to Mankind award from the Fairfield Sertoma Club, the Paul Harris Fellow by the International Rotary Foundation and the 1975 Citizen of the Year from the Winnsboro Civitan Club.  The Anemone Garden Club awarded Mr. Lynn an honorary membership, the sole male member, because of the many presentations he made to the club.
