Blythewood’s First Citizens Bank manager Eddie Wingard, left, and teller Toni Watson test drive the bank’s new ATM, installed June 13, that will accept both cash and check deposits without a deposit slip or envelope. Following the instructions on the screen, Watson inserted her debit card, then her check. Up to 10 checks or bills can be deposited in one transaction. The machine then produces a receipt that includes a picture of the check(s) or cash that was deposited.
Cash deposited is available for withdrawal the same day. The first $500 of deposited checks is available for withdrawal the same day as well. “It’s a great convenience for our customers,” Wingard said. “And it’s very easy to use…just follow the simple instructions on the screen.” The ATM was installed on June 13.
