Four Blythewood High School seniors have announced plans to continue their athletic careers on the collegiate level upon their graduation on Saturday. Darius Wilson, Javon Smith, Remi Jeffries and Michaela Wickham each signed their letter of intent during a scholarship signing with the school. Wilson, son of Michael and Yolanda Marshall, has committed to run track for the University of South Carolina Upstate Trojans. Wilson ran track for coach Andre Cook at BHS, was a two-time All-Region Champion and won a relay state championship in 2013. The sprinter was named an All-American Sprint MVP in 2013. Smith, son of Sheronda Smith, will play football for North Greenville University in the fall. A senior captain for Dan Morgan at BHS, Smith split time his senior season between quarterback and wide receiver and was named to the All-Region IV-4A team in 2013. Jeffries, daughter of Dwayne and Rhonda Jeffries, has committed to play golf for Columbia College next year. Jeffries, who played for head coach Janet Hoffmann at BHS, was a senior captain for the Bengals in 2013. She was nominated for the North-South All-Star Golf Tournament in 2013 and was a two-time medalist for the Bengals this past fall. Jeffries also earned the Momentum Academic Scholarship at Columbia College. Wickham, daughter of Mark and Mona Wickham, has signed to play softball for Southern Wesleyan University in Central, S.C. Wickham played outfield and third base for coaches Michael Ware and Dwayne Jones during her four years at BHS. Wickham earned the Bengal Award for Sportsmanship in 2011 and 2013, and was named a National Scholar Athlete each of her four years as a Bengal.
