Hall of Famer –

Blythewood resident Jake Harper has attended Camden Military Academy (CMA) for the past two years and recently became a member of their Sports Hall of Fame. Harper is the second soccer player to have his jersey number retired in the 18 years that coach Tom Hewett has been at the helm for CMA. In addition to his soccer accomplishments, Harper also received both the football and soccer Most Valuable Player awards and was named the CMA ‘Athlete of the Year.’ Described by coach Hewett as a “coach’s dream” and the “best player that I have ever coached,” Harper scored 44 goals and had 18 assists over the two seasons he played for the Spartans. During that time, Harper led the team to an impressive 38-5 record. Harper, an honor roll student at CMA, will attend Coastal Carolina University in the fall. He is the son of Richard and Tammy Harper.
