Lady Bengals Rally Past ‘Cats

BHS-53, Rock Hill-50

ROCK HILL – The Blythewood girls’ basketball team came from behind twice and got 21 points from Jasrial Thompson to defeat the Rock Hill Bearcats 53-50 Tuesday night at Rock Hill.

The Lady Bengals trailed 20-8 after one period of play but raced back to even things at 26 by halftime. Rock Hill started the fourth quarter with a 9-3 run to take a 47-42 lead, but Blythewood outscored the Lady Bearcats 11-3 down the stretch.

Rock Hill had a chance to send the game to overtime but a desperation 3-pointer drew nothing but air as the final horn sounded.

Lauren Harley also had 17 for the Lady Bengals. Harley and Thompson each had six in the final eight minutes. Madison Hendrix led the Lady Bearcats with 12.
