RIDGEWAY – Funeral services for Phillip W. Nichols, 75, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Ridgeway. The Rev. Dr. Jack Williamson will officiate. Burial will follow in Aimwell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Pope Funeral Home.
Mr. Nichols entered internal rest on Sunday, March 29, 2015. Born in Biscoe, N.C., he was the son of the late Henry Winston and Evelyn Ussery Nichols. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ridgeway and lifetime member of Masonic Lodge #30. Mr. Nichols retired after co-owning Nichols Brothers in Winnsboro for over 50 years. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Mrs. Helen Cooper Nichols; two daughters, Phyllis Nichols Gutierrez and Beth Nichols Collins (Brett) both of Ridgeway; brother Ted Nichols of Winnsboro; sister Mary Pat Wright (Davis) of Blythewood; two grandchildren, Nicole Collins Hunter (Croom) and Courtney Collins Timms (Martin); step-grandson Alex Gutierrez; and one great granddaughter, Addison Taylor Collins. He is also survived by his pet, Jack the donkey.
In addition to is his parents, he is predeceased by one son, Phillip Winston Nichols Jr. “Rock;” son in law, Francis Max Gutierrez “Frank” and sister-in-law Verna R. Nichols.
