Hoofers Face Tough Test in Queen City

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Blythewood boys’ cross country team started the season off against tough competition Saturday at the Providence Invitational in Charlotte. The team placed 27th out of 32 complete teams, but the young varsity team showed a great deal of potential for the season ahead.

Seven of the 10 runners improved on their personal best times from last season, and the meet marked the first varsity competition for seven runners. The team was led by junior Caleb Wilson, who finished 78th overall in a time of 17 minutes and 9 seconds. Other top finishers were KJ Mack, Amir McCall, Will Beacham and James Boyt.
