COLUMBIA – The Lady Bengals golf team won the Region IV-4A Region Championship Monday at Oak Hills Golf Club. The team was led by seventh-grader Mary Kathryn Talledo’s 7-over 79, as Blythewood placed four team members on the All-Region Team.
Earning All-Region honors were Talledo, freshman Parker Stalvey, eighth-grader Lindsey Hoile, and sophomore Kellan Young.
The Lady Bengals’ performance in the region tournament earned them a spot in the Upper State Tournament, to be held Monday, Oct. 19 at Fox Run Country Club in Simpsonville. Spring Valley, Dutch Fork and Lugoff-Elgin also qualified for Upper State, and Ridge View’s Arin Robertson qualified as an individual.
