With cold weather bearing down, Hoof & Paw Benevolent Society members Paula Spinali, center, and Deborah Richelle presented a gently used (but free!) dog house and straw bedding to Lamorris Holley of Winnsboro for his recently adopted 5-month old puppy, Baybay. Holley, employed in the maintenance department of Fairfield Central High School, adopted the puppy from the Fairfield County Animal Shelter two months ago and needed a backyard shelter for Baybay who lives outdoors. While walking through Ernest Manning’s Small Animal Class in the school’s Career Center, Holley noticed a poster about Hoof & Paw’s efforts to help pet owners provide shelter for their outdoor pets. That was Baybay’s lucky day. Now he has a snug backyard house and a warm, fluffy bed of straw for a good night’s rest during cold winter nights.
