Lady Griffins over Redhawks

WINNSBORO – The Fairfield Central High School Lady Griffins picked up a definitive win on the tennis court Thursday over the Westwood Redhawks. The Griffins did so in a dominant fashion, walking away with a 5-1 victory.

 Kyndall Reigns marked the Redhawks’ sole individual victory on the night in the first contest by defeating Cherrisse Trapp, 6-3 and 6-4, in consecutive sets. Janelle Green quickly righted the Griffin’s ship by outplaying Meera Rogers, 6-1 and 6-0, in another consecutive set.

 Krishayla Boyd, backed up Green’s performance, by beating Missey Perry in a 6-1, 6-0 thumping. Myasia Wynn-Robinson and Ashanti Thompson secured the Griffins’ blowout win by both securing 6-0 and 6-2 victories.

 Fairfield domination carried over into doubles competition. Jacia Green and Mikera Smith put the last feather in the Griffins’ cap by sweeping the double competition, 6-4 and 7-6 in straight sets.
