Winburn recognized as Commended Student

BLYTHEWOOD – Westwood High School’s Duncan Winburn has been named a Commended Student in the 2018 National Merit Program. Duncan is the son of Lide and Ellen Winburn.

According to Dr. Guy, “Duncan is an outstanding student in our both our Studio D and Carolina Alliance for Technology (CAT) programs, where he is studying computer science. He is also a talented actor and member of our theatre program.”

About 34,000 Commended Students are being nationally recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2018 competition by taking the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
