Griffins make x-country history

WINNSBORO – The Fairfield Central Griffin Cross Country program has reached new heights in school history under second year coach Colby Colvington. Colvington came in last year looking to rebuild a program that served mostly as a conditioning tool for athletes in other sports, and now, for the first time, they could qualify for the 3A State Championship.

The Griffins compete at State Qualifiers on Oct.28, and the top ten teams qualify for a spot at the State Meet. Currently, Fairfield is in the ninth spot but is only two points out from the number eight position.
