BHS Golf gets top 3 finish

LEXINGTON – This year, Blythewood Lady Bengals’ golf coach Jason Minkel led his team to a regional championship, earned Coach of the Year honors and powered the team to a third place finish in the State 5A tournament at the Lexington Country Club.

Bengal Golfers Parker Stalvey, Lindsey Hoile, Ella Stalvey, MK Talledo, and Mady Richards

Blythewood found themselves in fourth place after day one of the tournament with a score of 50 to par and trailed Boiling Springs, River Bluff and Lexington. The Bengals surged on day two and shot 18 strokes better than their day one total.

The day-two charge was enough to power the Bengals to third place spot, barely edging out Byrnes, River Bluff and Wando. Lexington took home the top spot, and Boiling Springs finished as a distant runner-up.

MK Talledo led the way for the Bengals with a 17-above par, followed by Parker Stalvey with 18-above par and Ella Stalvey was right behind them with a 19-above par. Talledo was named to the All-State team.
