Freshman John Russell (15) fires under Lion pressure.

WINNSBORO – The Richard Winn boys had a tough night on Tuesday with regional opponent Anderson Christian rolling in to town. The Lions, who are 14-3 with a 5-0 regional record, mauled the Eagles for a 78-36 win.

Derek Clark came out firing for Anderson Christian. He drained three shots from behind the arc, and helped the Lions jump out to a 25-7 lead after one. McCrae Moorhouse had seven points in the Lion’s offensive first period.

Clark led all scoring with 21 points. Moorhouse and Quintin Moultrie had 14 points apiece. Not one Eagle cracked double digits, and John Russell had a team high nine points. The Richard Winn offense struggled mightily in the first half and only mustered up 15 points, while the Lions scored 25 in both the first and third quarters.
