Obituary: William Robert (Bobby) Watts

BLYTHEWOOD – William Robert (Bobby) Watts left us to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 20, 2018. A graveside service for Bobby will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m. at Sandy Level Baptist Church, 408 Blythewood Road, Blythewood. The family will receive friends from 1 – 3 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the church.

Watts

Bobby was born in Columbia, S.C., on Dec. 29, 1937, and was the son of the late Owen Van Meter and Rose Watts. He was married to Shirley Rimer Watts for 52 years. He was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church where he was a former deacon, Sunday school teacher and Sunday school director.

He worked at Prudential Insurance Company for 35 years. His greatest love was for God, his wife, sons, grandchildren, his music and the Clemson Tigers. He was always loving, friendly and smiling to everyone. His sweetness and wonderful sense of humor will be missed. Bobby was loved by everyone who knew him. We will miss our loved one greatly.

Bobby is survived by two sons, Michael A. Watts (Michelle) and Gregory (Greg) Watts (Rebecca); two grandchildren, Courtney A. Watts (daughter) and William (Will) M. Watts; brothers Owen V. Watts II (Kathy) and Ronald B. Watts (Julie) and several nieces and nephews.

Bobby was predeceased by his wife, Shirley, and sisters Bonny Kay Watts and Anne Watts Crooke.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association or to the Lowman Home. Shives Funeral Home is assisting the family.
