Blythewood lacrosse teams earn post-season awards

BLYTHEWOOD – The Blythewood Bengals boys’ lacrosse team was guided by a roster full of talented seniors to the second round of the 5A state playoffs, and now those seniors are receiving their honors for their hard work.

Justin Williams not only earned first-team All-State and Lower State honors, but was also named the Lower State Player of the year and Lower State Midfielder of the year. Williams scored 21 goals this season in 13 games and had 91 shots on goal.

Matthew Clary was a second-team All Lower State Attack selection. He had 24 goals this season and had a 39 percent shooting rate. Mark Dunkin’s 43 ground balls earned him a second-team All Lower State Defensive selection. Trey Edwards chosen as second team Long Stick Midfielders.


BLYTHEWOOD – The Blythewood boys’ lacrosse team was not the only one on campus strewn with All-State selections. Lady Bengal Francesca Hribar earned first-team All-State Midfield and first-team Lower State Midfield selections. She scored 32 goals with 61 shots on goal and had a whopping 62 percent shooting percentage.

Brooke Myers was chosen to second team All-State defense and first-team All Lower State defense. Anna Bolio also received a second team All Lower State defense nod. Myers had 34B ground balls and Bolio had 13 ground balls to go along with 53 defensive percentage.
