WINNSBORO – William James “Bill” Davis, 64, of Winnsboro passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. Born in Winnsboro, he was the son of the late Troy James and Annie Mae Starnes Davis.
To friends and family, he was “Bill”. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. By nature he was a perfectionist, which showed in his work and any project he took on. Bill was a husband, father, a co-worker, leader and friend. To friends and family he was a link to something pure and old- unchanged by the world. He wanted to bring people together, especially those admired or befriended. He loved to brag on his friends and family- he was proud. He was proud because he felt they were a reflection of who he was or could be. Even though he admired others, he was an inspiration for many- achieving so much with so little.
Bill is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy Brigman Davis; son, Stacey James Davis; daughter, Alison Davis McLain (Alexander); brother, Terry Davis; two half-brothers, Wayne Humphries and Darnell Humphries; and five grandchildren, Tyler, Ella, Sean, Davis, and Charlie.
Graveside services were be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Fairfield Memorial Cemetery, Smalltown Road in Winnsboro, conducted by Reverend Richard Hodges. The family received friends Monday evening from 6-8 PM at Pope Funeral Home.
Pope Funeral Home is assisting the Davis family.
