WINNSBORO – The Fairfield County Historical Museum will host its annual old-fashioned Christmas open house on Dec. 2, the first Sunday in December, from 3 – 5 p.m.

The 1830 Museum will be decorated for the season in period fashion by partnering garden clubs and volunteers from the Fairfield County Historical Society. The lower rooms of the museum will feature traditional floral arrangements and live greenery.

Local musicians, including vocalists and instrumentalists on guitar and mandolin will ring in the spirit of Christmas with traditional performances in the museum’s formal parlor.

The traditional sing-along caroling will be accompanied by Lauren Livings on the museum’s 1854 medallion rosewood piano which was given to the museum by Edith Lyles, whose grandmother played it before the Civil War.

Homemade refreshments – prepared by Fairfield County Historical Society and Genealogy Society members – will be served in the museum’s dining room.

The event is open to the public. For more information, contact the museum at 803-625-9811.
