LUGOFF – The Fairfield Central Griffins boys’ basketball team struggled last season, but the team’s offseason advancements are showing early gains this season, and on Tuesday Jonathan Durant’s team added another win to their resume. The Griffins traveled to Lugoff-Elgin and returned to Winnsboro with a 62-60 win.
Sintell Quattlebaum had a career high 30 points in the narrow victory and Melvin Peay gave the Griffins a lift with his 10-point night. Austin Shilhavy led the Demons in scoring with 14, and Kyjuan Gadson had 12.
