WINNSBORO – Richard Winn hosted Newberry Academy on Friday night, and a dazzling pitching performance by Zack Taylor earned RWA a 10-0 victory. Taylor pitched all five innings without allowing a hit. He struck-out eight and only surrendered two walks.
Brandon Miller, Will Carvalho, and Austin Lancaster delivered the only RBIs the Eagles had on the night. The remainder of Richard Winn’s runs came through errors and passed balls. Dru Caldwell swiped home plate in the bottom of the third.
The Eagles hosted cross-town rival Fairfield Central on Wednesday and fell 14-1. They travel to King on Friday to close out the week with a conference game.
