Combs
BLYTHEWOOD – John Combs has been tapped for Head Coach of Westwood boys basketball. Combs takes over for Ty Baumgardner, who stepped down to move back to Georgia.
Combs most recently headed Ben Lippen’s boys program for three seasons. Prior to his stint at Ben Lippen, Combs was headed Ridge View’s program for 11 seasons. In 2011, Combs led the Blazers to their first ever State Championship game before falling to Irmo in the title matchup.
“Westwood has been one of the best basketball programs in South Carolina,” Combs said, “and we look forward to continuing to build upon the culture of excellence.”
