Eagles wrap up clay season

RICHBURG – The Eagle sporting clay team closed their season last Saturday in the 2019 SC Ducks Unlimited Sporting Clay Tournament Series State Championship at their home course, Rocky Creek Sporting Clays in Richburg.

Four Eagles shot in the Senior Varsity Advanced division. Junior Brandon Miller placed 36th with 92 out of 100 clays. Freshman Mikaela Miller followed with 85 out of 100 for 59th place. Senior Jake Clyburn also hit 85 clays, and senior Jordan Rawl shot 67.

Two Richard Winn teams competed in the Senior Varsity division. The team of Sammy Banister, Carson Stuck and Tyler Tanner finished with 268 busted clays, just 20 below the first place team. Banister hit 94 for a 13th place finish, Stuck shot 93 for 20th place, and Tanner hit 81.

The girls team of Ansley Parker, Meredith Pope and Samantha Wilkes finished with 232 hits. Wilkes shot 90 out of 100 for 71st place overall. Pope and Parker each hit 76 clays.
